MOTHER’S DAY

O Mother Divine, Eternal, so proudly mine
From you all’s born, Nature mighty yet so fine
In her lap the rivers flow and the trees grow,
Birds above flowers below, the gentle breezes blow
Granting our seasons, Time, today tomorrow
In her every moment, our pain, joy and sorrow
All for us to live, love, share and care
Never ceasing, judging or asking,
Just selfless in her giving
Made of her water, air, heat, earth and space.

I am her, I’m in her, She’s in me
Giving me birth, the path of life
Wearied by the journey, in her bosom to reside
Then whence this hate, discriminate and dominate
When all of her is compassion, every virtue great
Nurturing faiths and fears, our every giant leap
Making life grand and great,
so we in turn create
Yet you lie wounded, hurt, bleeding, still pleading
Will I ever repent, love and respect, is it too late
For in your hurt and pain, you’ll strive for me,
You will live on, O Mother, what of me?
